Does anyone have any experience with these???

I'm looking for a new fishfinder, and I like the interface ability (will work with my handheld GPS), butI've never used any of their products.
I assume you are talking of the ds400 to 600X series. I have one and it has good screen definition and powerful sounding performance and reasonable auto performance except in shallow water. The menu system is not very intuitive and many features in setup are lost when the unit is turned off eg manual operation needed for operation in shallow water has to be reset when the unit is turned off. Conclude it is has good hardware let down by poor software. It is also virtually throw away when there is a problem outside of warranty.

I think Furuno is a better option unless you want a unit to work in auto in deep water.
Geez, I have the 600 and I love it. I believe you'll find some other good reviews as well. Adjust it? I haven't had to, then again I put in the thrull hull with the high speed fairing block.
I have the 400 and it works exactly as advertised. Its the only fish finder that I didn't have to fiddle with the settings. Mine was set on Auto Fishing or Auto Trolling all of last season. If the picture is not what you like, wait a second or two before you touch anything. The unit will adjust its settings and all will be good again.

I'm interested to hear how the new Furuno digital units compare.
