I have purchased a gearcase seal kit for my 1956 30Hp Big twin and both oil seals are not nearly as 'robust' as the originals. The seal lips are a lot thinner and narrower, my question is are better seals available somewhere?
Many thanks.

There's not much made now'a'days that is as "robust" as the original equipment. If the seals are the correct size and they fit, I'd use 'em.

Many thanks, I am hoping there might be another application out there with better seals. I have history in the heavy truck parts business so I will check some cross references and buyers guides, if I find something I will post.

Unless you can find some NOS seals, you'll probably have to put up with the aftermarket ones. I've not had any problems with the newer seals, but don't know if their longevity will be equivalent to the original seals. I've actually seen motors from the '50s with original seals which still didn't leak.
