Thanks Chris and Ed for the excellent info. I have a new bearing and it will be press fit, I was thinking of pulling the crank and piston assy, so I bought a set of three ring compressors on ebay, I was interested on how they work. I am a long time auto mechanic, I don't know how these compressors work as when I put them over the rod/piston the compressor tool is too short by about an inch. I believe the piston/rod assy attached to the crank has to go in together and I can't see how these compressors would work. I didn't see any were that the compression tools were of different lengths as one size fits all. Any help would be well appreciated. Thanks Buz

Sounds like you got the ones for small inlines...you should have 3 straight and 3 angled
