have a 88 cobra 4.3 I/O runs great wide open but stalls when going slow,whats wrong?

You have an I/O so you would be best served in that forum. But, idle speed too low, idle mixture incorrect, need of tune up, bad gas, water in fuel, bad choke adjustment, just to name a few.
