Re-carpeting options - What are my choices?

I've got a 1990 Cadorette 210 which I keep really clean. But I can only do so much and now I'm planning on doing "something" about the carpet. The cuddy carpet is still a nice blue and exceptionally clean for the boats age. It's usually covered with the cushions so I would say that is the reason. However, the carpet in the cabin has faded to a pale blue from the sun, and is looking worn. It's the high traffic, spilled drinks and water from swimming that keep beating it up. As much as I try, I admit defeat.

So, what can I do? I was thinking a few different things and would like some feedback. My first option is to try and get as clos a match to the cuddy carpet and reinstall. My other idea was to install a teak paneled floor. There is a boat builder just down the road and I've seen some nice panels that have a classic teak look. But my boat interior might be a bit to "modern looking" to mix wood with. Not sure really.

I know I have to rip up the carpet, take out the foot lockers etc and basically gut the cabin to get it done. Anyone ever do anything similar? I'd love to see you before and after pics - success stories, and horror stories.

here are links to some interior shots:

http://home.ripway.com/2004-4/100218/boating/Cabin_stern2.jpg

http://home.ripway.com/2004-4/100218/boating/Cuddy_hatchopen.jpg

Thanks, and I appreciate any help.

Quig

Kinda a personal preference thing - I don't like built in carpets on boats due to potential mildew/rot issues. I would pull the old carpet out and paint the floor with a high quality marine paint. If you think you need carpet add some runners or throw rugs that can be easily removed.
