RE-HELP 225 Mariner don't run in high rpm

I was out on the boat today and on high rpm the boat dont run engine revs but no go but it runs on low rpms. 1995 mariner 225 serial # og201349

Are you saying that the engine moves the boat a low RPM's but will not move it at high RPM? If that is the case you probably have a spun hub in the propeller.

Yes, he sounds right, but if it is not prop, there could be debre on bottom of boat causeing air bubbles makeing prop ventilate.

Just got back from removeing the prop and sure enough there was plenty of rubber chewed up in there.

Next ques. it that rebuildable ? If so whats the going price for that type of work.

Yes you can have it repaired and they can fix any dings or damage to the blades.Can't help you on the price but reasonable compared to replacing it.

I was just priceing out another ss prop. but I will rebuild the one I have.

You know , the 3 liter motors are known the burn out prop hubs due to high temp exhust gases . And prop shaft seal also. do to clogged relief holes in houseing.

Relief hole is that the where the water comes out of motor on rear right top? If so the stream of water looks fine.

I just installed a brand new merc. prop. But the bushing is plastic squared on this one.
