Re-jetting for high altitude

Took the boat out last weekend to a lake at about 6000ft. Other than The starting problems it ran pretty good but could not get above 4800rpm. I understand that by decreasing my high speed jet size I could get a better mix of gas and keep the performance up.
What size are the hs jets in my carbs? What should I reduce them to?

just states that they are fixed jets. Suppose I could remove them and read the # off the jet. Any ideas on how much smaller I should go?

I think they mean fixed as opposed to adjustable needle type. Again, shop manual would have the needed detail or call BRP customer service.

I understand the meaning of fixed jet. Just looking for any ideas from someone who may have done this to there carbs before.

It also entails that I looked in my oem manual and wasn't able to find any jetting info.

My dad had a boat dealer ship in Santa Fe NM (elev 6700) and rejetted every motor that was to be used near there. Only sea level motors weren't rejetted. I would give BRP customer service a call or a dealer nearby. They should be very familiar with the drill. You are down ~ 20% in HP due to altitude and running rich makes it even worse.

Thanks, I went to my dealer today and your right they have a special jetting conversion book for altitude. All I have to do is bring a jet in and they can order me a matching set for altitude.
