The 130's should be the same in those 2 years. Are you looking at anything in particular?

Whats the model number of your motor?

Re: Re Johnson 130 manual

Hi Dh,

The model # is J130TLEOA
Carbs seem to be difrent the manual shows a carb with an idle mixture ajustable needle,my carbs have an orifice in this location.
Book also shows a slow speed needle and spring in the throttle body, which i can not finde on mine, this is what got me thinking that there may have been some changes and i might have the wrong manual. Thanks a lot for your time. J,C,

Re: Re Johnson 130 manual

The 95 A models should have the 2 small fixed jets and an adjustable needle in the top of the carb body. Yours doesnt have that?

Does it have the "thumbscrew" air box (silencer)?

Re: Re Johnson 130 manual

Interesting. Every carb assy that uses the thumbscrew air box has an adjustment screw. Are you positive it isn't there? It should be at about 11 o'clock just outside the venturi. It may not stick out, you may have to look close. If it isn't there we'll have to figure out what carbs you do have.

Re: Re Johnson 130 manual

Dhadley thank you so verry mutch for your help.

Yes it's there at 11 o'clock i thought this was a mounting screw as it has a large head.
now my manual states that this motor has two dual throat carbs,
My motor has four carbs thet have the same number which is 436604 on top of carb, the two top carbs have sticker on the side cover plate with 43554
08LS
Mexico
My manual also shows a slow speed needle in the throttle body which i doo not have, this i think prooves that i have the wrong manual. Thanks again
J,C,

Re: Re Johnson 130 manual

You do actually have 2 dual throat carb assemblies. Carb assemblies . They really confued everyone with this one. You have 4 carb bodies (1 throat each) and 2 throttle bodies (2 throats each). Each carb assembly consists of 1 throttle body and 2 carb bodys.

If you think thats confusing, consider a V6. It has 4 carb assemblies. 2 dual throat assemblies (just like yours) and 2 single throat assemblies.

Re: Re Johnson 130 manual

Finley i understand the diference between 2 dual throat carb assemblies, and carb bodies.

I cleaned the carbs today complete with new kits
this is where i noticed that my throtle bodies dont have the slow speed needle like in the manual they are on the top left of each carb like you mentioned, should i get a 1995 manual to replace this 1994 in case there is other changes from 94 to 95.
I realy appreshiat your assistance, thanks. J,C, ;) ;)

Re: Re Johnson 130 manual

It may be a good idea. You'd have to go thru the entire parts lists on both years to verify any tiny differences. It may well be the carbs and linkage only. The ignition is the same as well as the block and all internals.

Isnt that the way it always is -- the one thing you need to look at may well be the only difference.....
