Re: Need some advise. with pics

Hey thanks for the advice guys. I'm probly going to be asking alot of questions so hope you can help me through this one. Right now I'm on a tight budget so I don't think the reglass is going to be an option. Maybe next year but not this one. I think I'm going to patch and repaint. What do you think it would cost to reglass and gel coat? Should I use a primer or surface putty before I start to paint? What if I cant find a media blaster will sanding work? Also on the keel it doesnt appear to have any glass on it. It looks like painted wood. I wanted to know your guys opinion on paint as well keeping in mind that I'm on a tight budget. Thanks agian skippers!

Pictures??

Fiberglass resin is cheap. I would suggest get some pictures and establish a "to do" list.

Patching is okay if done properly but only on certain spots.

Media blasting would be great but I believe most of us use sandpaper.

What ever repairs you are doing should be done the right way or you could be swimming! I understand the budget 100% and IMO the project will just take a bit longer.

Gel coat is not that much money.

Yea,

What is the fiberglass shell you have described. Would that be the cabin ? Decking ? Fiberglass over the plywood hull ?

and is the keel straight and true or is it hogged or sagging ?

The glass shell I am talking about is the fiberglass over the plywood hull. Sorry for the confusion.
