New to this thread..seems everytime i have a question google directs me to here..Just got done sandblasting boat..I was going to coat hull outside with Durabak only to find out it will peal off with any kind of speed..Back to square one..I do have some leaking rivets and will apply Gluvit then Primer and then paint..I have many question about all 3 items..My boat has a good running 140 OMC..want to get it done to go Seelhead fishing in mid Oct..

For aluminum boats it's all about the prep. All bare aluminum needs mild acid washing top prep it. Then Self Etching Primer. I like Plain old Rustoleum Professional Oil Based Acrylic enamel paint with Acrylic enamel hardener added. I will last for years and is very durable. Check out page #10 in my "My Flamingo" Thread listed below. My boat is Glass but I give instructions for the forumula for Aluminum boats as well.
