Hi All -
I know it seems trivial - but the DPO (father) probably heated up the motor and painted it lousy (luckily post repairs). I mean this thing looks beat on and (post repairs; it's fine) and feel it's a low cost / high reward item.
I would like to repaint. I have some auto body sand blasters and various and am comfortable on the paint removal. Can I use "normal primer" (rustoleoum, krylon??) and should it be self-etching (better surface than std primer) before painting it (I have some quicksilver black gloss (looks the same as rustoleoum)????
I will use it in salt water once every year or two. Rest of the time is all fresh. It's a 2 stroke if that matters at all.
Secondly - any 3rd party sources for the cowl stickers? Mine look pretty lousy. Tried to source from Merc service web site, had zero luck.
Thanks for your help.
