I have a shot at buying a Fibreglass 500$ (US), 20ft I/0 Double Eagle (made in BC Canada) that is in good over all shape. The Volvo engine and drive have been taken out for parts.

I am looking to put a 200hp outboard on it, and I'm not looking to spend a tun of money on custom brackets etc.

I have searched the Forums a bit and found some pretty neat links. Like brackets that cover the existing hole and add a swim platform as well as a motor mounting bracket.

Would it be cheaper to fill the hole in the transom (with a wood and fibre glass) and buy a bracket, or go for the bracket that would enclose the hole as well.

Any thoughts or Suggestions?

Got a quote of $14K to repower my 23'CC with a new 200 Yammie carbed 2 cycle with bracket cables & stuff. That did not include any transom work.
