I have a 2005 Yamaha F40TLR-67C with a 11.4 x 12 prop. At idle my speed is between 2.4mph-3mph. I am looking to get the speed down to 1- 1.5 mph. Would dropping down to a 10 pitch get me there?

Welcome to IBoats,

A 10 pitch will up those mentioned idle revs. Will need a higher prop pitch to lessen the idle revs, say a 13-14 one. But will screw up the entire boating performance at faster middle/wot range, increase fuel consumption, etc.

Could use an aft water chute to slow the combo down...

Happy Boating

If you need to drop speed as for trolling when fishing..install a adjustable trolling plate.
