Re: Starting problem

I have a 1990 50 H.P. O.B. When the boat sits for a day or so, the motor will start on the first crank. After the boat has been run for awhile, it won't start. What might be the problem or a place to start.......coils perhaps?

Re: Starting problem

Do a compression/spark test.
Then check the fuel system.

Re: Starting problem

When it won't start you need to check the following: Spark on the plugs and also if there is fuel in the carbs (prime the bulb if you need to) and then post back.

Re: Starting problem

I've heard of the carb. bowl going dry from the engine heat after a run and shutdown. Will repriming with the bulb allow a start?
