ready to do glassing - 1 final question

I did my first glassing this weekend. used "kitty hair - (long strand fibreglass mixed in with resin)" as a bed for my stringers. It went well although in retrospect I think it was overkill as that stuff was not cheap and doesn't have to be exceptionally strong there.

Now, I'm ready to put the transom in and I plan to do this in layers on different days and there will be overlapping laminations. (ie. I will be glassing over a section that I glassed over the previous day) I am using bondo polyester resin and cloth. Will I need to sand the 1 day old glass? or is that only applicable to epoxy resin?

just grind down the larger bumps and spikes sticking out. the rougher the better for the next layer to stick.

clean with acitone

I found the bondo rosin works well, but I cut the hardner almost in 1/2. there recomidation makes it set up way to fast.

Fuzzydog,
If you are using laminating resin it will stay tacky and you don't have to sand. That's one reason why laminating resin is used for glassing. If it is finishing resin it will dry tackfree and need sanding.
