:mad:I've got a Johnson 150 Fast Strike (model J150GLERA) that I can't figure out. It only fires on 1 bank of cylinders. I've replaced the plugs, power pack, stator, and optical sensor. I also disconnected the shift kill switch - still no fire on 1 bank. Finally threw in the towel and took it to a mechanic - he can't pinpoint the problem either - can't find a bad connection anywhere and all electrical components seem to check out okay. Any ideas out there on what this could possibly be?

Boy, you've really covered this pretty good. The only thing I can say is you might have a new defective part. If it was myself, I'd take my meters and start from scratch trouble shooting the system. That is along with an OEM factory service manual.

follow the link to the trouble shooting guide in my sig below, that guessing stuff is not working well for you. also get yerself a DVA adapter and a multi meter so you can preform the required test, link is also in my sig below..or tell me where I can pick up your motor and I will ride by tomorrow and haul it off for you.

Did you disconnect the overheat sensor at the powerpack? Also check the blocking diode in that general vacinity. Any grounding of the powerpack overheat wire kills spark to 1 bank of cylinders.
