What are some REAL boat makers? There are custom built choppers and planes and boats, what are some that blow your mind?

Stroker Bass Boats. All of their boats are designed for 100+ mph.

outer limits is faster and more expensive than most pictured above.

of course, you could buy several for the cost of one rybovich. $2.5M for the 60', 2 year wait, you pay full price up front.

Re: REAL boats...

V-Bottom World Record
Fountain Powerboats builds the fastest boats in the world. Period. Our absolute stranglehold lock on the V-bottom World Speed Record proves the point. Our most recent assault was a phenomenal 171.883 mph clocking by our 42' Lightning. Fountain's performance superiority is so dominant, the competition has given up even trying to keep pace. All rivals can talk about is tired, worn-out records from the '60s and '70s. And Fountain's high speed technology extends beyond the tough V-bottom division. Because we use the same exact designs on all of our racing and pleasure boats at Fountain Powerboats, When We Race You Win

Re: REAL boats...

ralph- you're correct- fountain does hold the record for now. just took it away from outerlimits. now they are planning runs this summer in a new boat to break that record. in the end, their all crazy.

it's funny to see how different people turn to different types of boats. couple people threw out some high end bass boats, while i turn right to the best offshore fish killing machine around. guess it's all what you like.

i also like regulator and intrepid.

Re: REAL boats...

Ralph, I've heard and seen all the big box brand with 7 figure engineers around the world. Any "Jesse James" type boat builders?

Re: REAL boats...

I guess I was trying to stick with the "Custom Chopper" analogy that Notinbig used - the offshore racers are the closest equivalent. Eddie Trotter used to build and race them with the other guys of Thunderboat row. Eddie's custom chopper shop is called Thunder Cycles Designs. He still tools around in like a 38' Cigarette...
