ok so i charge my battery over night get a nice full charge on the battery but it still has a hard time turning the motor over it barly gets it around it's not spinning it fast enough to start the motor and now i think the starter is gone cuz it just stoped and all i get is a click now anyone no why the motor would be so hard to turn over it was running yesterday but it was really hard to get going so i'm not sure.

Determine your amperage

Determine your amperage

You need to determine first if the battery is weak. As a battery begins to wear out, it will take a charge, but the cells are weak and it does not have the amperage necessary to crank the motor over. You can take it to an auto parts store and have it tested, or you can purchase a load meter that will tell you the condition of the battery. This is the first thing I would do; there is no need to start replacing expensive parts until you determine the actual problem. If the battery is too weak to turn the starter, you will only get the "clicking" of the solenoid.

Re: really hard to crank

Try the battery out of your car. A bad battery will not hold a charge. Check the battery cables (both ends) to make sure they are clean and tight (looking at them is not a check). Eliminate everything by using jumper cables to jump the starter directly. If jumping does not improve things, you are probably looking at a new starter. But before you do that, remove the plugs and try turning the engine by hand. If it turns hard, there is an internal engine problem.
