25 hp merc OB, I just rebuilt the water pump due to failure of the other one. I don't like the fact that this motor only pees when the thermostat opens.
Any reason I can't run without the thermostat in place? I know the engine will take longer to reach operating temp, and may not even get all the way up there, but aside from the engine not burning as efficently as the EPA would like, is there really a downside I'm over looking?
