Guys
I'm replacing my rear engine mount bushings on my 4.3 92 mercruiser. I have the old ones out. The socket I was using with a hammer is almost the same size diameter as the metal bushing outer core but not quite. Once I got the bushing flush with the housing my socket was just a wee bit larger in diameter and would not fit inside the housing to knock the bushing down to the stop. My question is can I use a smaller socket that will fit on the middle part of the bushing where the bolt goes thru or would that damage the bushing hitting there?
