Did the factory ever add round washers between "d" and "e" on the diagram? or any other reason for them to be there?

I'm installing the engine (91 7.4 L with bravo 1)as part of my restoration and had these washers not shown in the diagram in a bag with the other hardware and don't remember if this is where they came from.

No. if the bottom of the rear mount is smooth you use the doublewound washer , if the bottom is knurled(new style) you have the option of using the thin flat washer if needed, doublewound not used with new style

I believe that these flat washers were being used with the spiral washer, without them the motor is sitting too low, with them in place the alignment tool slides right in. Quite sure I have the older style mount but will have to lift the motor to double check.

I built the new motor mounts to be close to the same height as the factory ones were, so I am dealing with new motor mount height, and a new gimbal bearing

If they should not be used, how much would the front engine mounts need to be lowered to drop the motor 1/8" at the coupler?

Would these thin stainless washers (. 095") cause stress on driveshaft ujoints? Bushings are in good shape, I think the original mounts were built too high and there is not enough clearance between them for the engine to be lowered without interference from the oil cooler hose fittings etc,
I rebuilt the mounts to the same dimensions so I have the same problem
