Rear seal in boot

Have a 48 Hsp. Johnson SPl Model J48ESLETE Serial No, G03210538, not sure of the year as I just bought it. The rear seal in the boot where the prop is, seems to be leaking, Is this a major problem, and if not what is the procedure for replacing the seal.

first thing you need is the oem manual for your engine. the oem is the best, there's a link below, clymer and seloc are ok for minor stuff, but not complete. you can buy them here at the iboats store, or look on ebay for a use one. your engine is a 1993.
