Just got the new 2009 Lund brochure and the Rebels are back. The Classic
models are gone,...most likely replaced by the new Rebels. Seen one in person
also at Tippecanoe Boat Co. in Leesburg,In. Nice boats,...but they are out of my price range unfortunately!

New Rebels are superior to old Classics. Still use IPS hulls. Great value for $$$. Good starter Lund that can be upgraded.

I would have to agree with you on that one. Though I never got to run the older Classic series boats,I did look at them and after seeing the new Rebels,
I have to say I like them alot better,...the new Rebels,I mean. I just wish I
had the money for one,but I don't. I'll have to stick with the A series utility row boats,...that is about all my budget will allow,...though I may have to try and find an older A-14. Checking the Lund specs board,Lund started making those back in about 1995. I would like to move up to a WC-16,though. I quickly went over to the specs board, and yes,the A-14 came out in '95.
The WCs came out way before that,...about '88,if not before.

Re: Rebels are back!

Just to clarify, the classic models do have the IPS hull. I have a 2006 1625 Classic tiller w/30hp Honda. The motor pushes this boat very well. I have a stainless prop on it and the motor jacked up a hole. I really like fishing out of this boat. Haven't seen the new Rebals, but I'm sure they are very nice also. Junky......

Re: Rebels are back!

The new Rebels do have the IPS hull (minus the spray rail). I purchased a new 1625XL SS in June with a 60 hp 4 stroke Mercury. Top end is around 36mph. and cruises comfortably at around 26-28mph (from 4200 to 4500 rpms.) It is a very nice boat for the $. However, I upgraded the seats, put real nice electronics on it and a Terrova ap trolling motor. Now the investment got bigger. I also had to add a Stingray stabilizer to the engine to keep the bow down when coming out of the hole. All in all it is a great big 16' boat with good storage. Just what I was looking for when sizing down. I sold my 172 Scout with a 115 to buy the Rebel. I fish in the Central North Carolina area for Stripers and Crappie and this boat is perfect for my needs. Lighter and less $ to run and tow. Got first class service from my dealer here in the area also. Just thought I'd add some hands on opinions of the 1625. Try it you'll like it!:)

Gee! i thought my 1989 Rebel was the real "Classic" Rebel. but then i guess a true classic anything doesn't have to have "Classic" in it's name to be one.

I'd love to try the Rebel,...and then my dealer will expect me to buy it!
My budget will not allow the Rebel at this time,so I'll have to settle for the smaller A-14 utility row boat. Only a Lund for this die-hard Lund guy,...even
if it is a pre-owned Lund!
