'89 Johnson 70. I really like the fact that this pump runs leaner @ trolling speeds while the newer OMS pumps run closer to 60:1. Repair kits are available for both the air-motor and the fuel pump for about $40.00 -vs- $360.00 for OMS. Will these 2 kits restore the unit or does the oil component need renewal as well? There is no mention of an oil pump kit.

You can't rebuild the complete pump, and because of it's age,you would really be trying a patch. On a tire,it goes flat again. If the pump doesn't pump oil, price pistons and cylinders.I also like the pump features, and would replace it.

DHP

Check out Ishopmarine.com

New OMS pump Part # BMC-5004559 240.31

This includes the kit to update 3 wire to newer 4 wire version, and all fittings and hoses.

Just rebuilt my 235 this last fall and deciced to replace old VRO before I take it out this spring.
Pump was working but was showing signs of minor leakage. New OMS @ 240 is (Cheap insurance if you dont like pre-mixing).

Premixing's free.
And accurate.
And gives complete peace of mind.

Maybe I'm biased!
