My nefew rebuilt a 1981 Johnson 70 that we are partners on. He had an auto mechanic help him. I took motor into the shop to have a professional go through it to be sure it was ok. I was told everything was good...except they could hear a minor sound comming from (they think) the rod bearings and wanted to know if a rod bearing tool was used to set the rod bearings and end caps on the cank shaft. It was not. I am thinking it needs to torn down and the bearings reset using the correct tool. Just ooking for confirmation as we have already spent plenty:redface:. Thks N
