Rebuild or not

Hey guys I have some ?

I just got a free 120 force I dont know what year it is Ser e075793 I did the search (nothing) I would say its a 92

Ok now onto testing it

I tried to turn it over no good I think its froze
I have the plugs out and spray PB into each Cyl and let it set for a day
Now its turning but this is with a bar and its not moving much but its moving
Ok I take the head off and take a look .Everything looks good cyl are good,pistons look good. What do you think this could be should I pull the pistons and see if it will move or could this be a bearing.

Most likely a broken ring, or maybe motor was overheated and seized a ring(s)?? Not likely for a bearing to cause this but you never know. Only way to tell is to take it apart.

If it was sunk or injested water, the bearings will turn to junk pretty fast. Pull the carb mounting plate and reed plate and take alook inside. That will give you a good idea of what the powerhead is worth.

Don't forget, the lower end can also be a deal breaker. You can buy them on ebay for $500 on up but you can never be sure of what you are getting.

Sometimes it is better to buy a used boat and motor rather than spending money trying to build an old one or buying a new one.

I have the lower unit off and it looks to be fine ,oil is clean.
I have been going over this motor for 3 hours Carbs are off I have been peeking around and see nothing,Its a very clean motor inside and out.
I will just have to pull it apart because I have a feeling it was over heated and the rings are stuck or something.I will post back soon
