has anyone rebuilt one of the hc5370-71 sidemount rams from seastar? im in the middle of the build, but something is not making any sense to me. it looks like the shaft seal goes on the inside of the cylinder on the ram itself, on the motor side of the brass fitting that keeps everything centered, but should that brass collar and the o-ring shaft seal float on thet shaft like mine are, or should they be locked into place to maintain a seal, which makes sense. and if they are how does one accomplish that. thanks

Would be better if you could post some pics. Did you compare the old seals to the new? Mabe the new ones are thinner? They should be the same.

I compared and all looked the same. The shaft seal just doesn't make any sense to me, because the old one was floating on the Chrome rod too. But it seems to me that if its not in a set location, then the shaft will leak until that seal slides into place, which will happen every time I turn the wheel. I will try to get pics on here when I get home
