take out both snap rings, put it into a baggie, and run the pump.

one of the plugs will pop out. if not then will need to backfeed pressure into the pump.

the plug cover is a press fit needle valve. be careful not to scratch, score, or squash the plug when removing. the sludge on the needle is what is left of your old seal. clean all surfaces throuroughly and replace with viton. replace piston ring with viton. buna is adequate for all other seals. Personally, I don't think you'll be able to find them in either buna or viton. However, if you do find buna but not viton then use the buna. It will work. It just won't last as long.

wash out body with mineral spirits and make sure there is no dirt or debris in the channel. use a very light coat of vaseline on piston and put it back first. put light coat of vaseline or motor oil on plug seals and put pump back together.

the ball valves are on the top side. don't even mess with them. just leave the topside alone and you don't have to worry about ball vales, springs, shims, gears, or pressure gauges. or - more to the point - if you don't take the top half apart then it is really hard to ruin the pump.

your plugs will probably pop right out when you turn on the motor. if they don't then one of your plugs probably needs replacing.

if your motor spins but the plugs don't come out then you have to hook another pump up to it (port to port) and blow the plugs out with back pressure. but - be careful. it is possible to blow oil past your armature shaft seal. if you blow oil into the motor then you have created an even more difficult problem to fix.

Be careful when you blow out those plugs. They have a lot of pressure behind them and can travel far. use a thick wad of shop rags to catch them.
