i just rebuilt carbs on my 1975 85hp evinrude modle 85593 ran great on muffs took it to lake ran ok went to wot right up to speed now wont idle back down and wont start without help and runs about half throttle where did i go wrong
What do you mean by "won't start without help"? Idling too fast and running at half throttle could be as simple as the carb linkage problem. Since it was messed with you need to take a look at it.
after the episode at lake it wouldnt start sprayed a small amount of gas in carb it started but stays at fast idle when in gear also wont idle the linkage is the same as it was on muffs will deffinatly look them over again in morning just cant figure what happened after i went to wot
up date checked linkage this morning found i had put throttle in lower hole was holding carb half oped corrected fired up and idled nice back to the lake thanks for the advice have learned alot
