Well got the rebuilt powerhead on and running. Now I have a problem that the rebuilder says isn't that important but I think it will cause problems in the long run.

The origional powerhead was a 89' 125 with the large flat cyl head. The rebuild powerhead that I recieved I believe is a newer design and may be a 120HP (will pull the only numbers I could find which were on the top of the exhaust cover)? It has a much smaller head (not as wide) with cooling fins on it. It looks like there is the actual head and then a cover for it (the part with the fins on it).

Well the problem is that water squirts/runs/streams out around the lowest spark plug hole. I spoke with the rebuilder and he say's it's not that important but will reimburse me for parts and labor to have it fixed. He did have me re-tourque the head bolts which I did. He also said to tighten the small bolts to the left of each spark plug. These bolts don't seem to tighten maybe they are stripped and that is why it is leaking water. I did run the boat Saturday for 3 hours and it ran great and the powerhead was only warm to the touch the whole time.

In short should I just get a new head gasket and a gasket for the cylhead cover and what the heck do the small bolts to the left of each spark plug do?

Sorry for the long post and thanks for all your anwsers guys!!

Loran
