We have a 93-125hp force engine. We just replaced piston, rings, starter. It won't start when the fuel line is hooked up. But if you remove the fuel line it will start and run until fuel is used up . Also smoking really bad. What do you think the problem is? Thanks

Cyazel, it sounds like too much fuel. Is the carburator flooding? Do you have the lines hooked up right? You may have a fuel line going to the pulse port...Just a guess. Drop me a line, and let me know.
Old Salty Dawg "arf-arf"

It sounds like it is flooding out (smoking and running on bowls only).
Try to start it for about 5 seconds, then pull the plugs and examine for signs of unburnt gas.
These are the carbs that are werking, but may be werking too well,(idle mixture too rich,or flooding).
I'm just a guess here, at this point.

I am being told to ask what is a pulse port? Can't find anything in the manual. First rebuild. Also does anyone have a diagram on how to hook up the carb hoses?

Definitely flooding. But we don't know how to correct it. Help...

The pulse port is where the hose that runs your fuel pump connects to your motor. It provides a pulse of air on the down stroke of one piston each revolution of the crank to power the diaphragm of the fuel pump. Try switching the hose from your block with the one from your tank on your fuel pump.
