I have gotten all of the old carpet up and finished getting all of the glue up( that was a pain). everyting under the carpet seems to be in pretty good shape. The floor seems to be pretty easy as far as laying the carpet. My question is, is there a certian way to carpet the storage box covers/doors. I have never done anythiung like this before and just don't want to waste a lot of carpet. Thanks for any replies.

No special way except you will have to figure out how to get the most out of your carpet. Draw it out on a piece of paper be for you start cutting.

Its always a good idea to remove the original carpet intact as much as possible. It can then be used as a pattern so you end up wasting less material. Corners on hatch covers are a pain but if you study how the factory did it, you can repeat the process.

On the covers use contact cement on the edges. (follow directions on the can) That way when you roll the carpet over the corners and lips it sticks instantly. One draw back...when it makes contact...right or wrong, it is there for the duration!!!

If it's wood surfaces, cut and staple using SS or nickle staples. I wrap around and staple or glue only indoor/outdoor, patio, plush cut, carpet from a house carpet store. Has lasted 10 years in a 16' fish boat. Do not use loop carpet, hooks stick in and you cut it out.
