is there a way to recarpet bunks while leaving boat on trailer? kinda like if I could just jack one side up at a time. strip and carpet, then let it down and repeat for otherside. Thanks.

I've done it that way. Just raise the boat enough to get the bunk off one side at a time.

much easier with the boat off but can be done as said. Jack up one side at a time and go to work. Just be sure to block up the boat for safety. Good luck.

Re: recarpeting bunks

I learned this trick on this board: Lower the front of the trailer all the way down. Put jackstands with 2x4s on top under the back of the boat on both sides. Now crank up the front of the trailer. This will lift the back of the boat high enough to replace both bunks.
