Since joining this forum, one of the best *features* is that it has been about information sharing. I *used* to regularly read another forum that got real bad on bashing dealers, brands, etc. and I finally became tired of it all - especially since the info I gathered from it was greatly diminished. Someone stated in THE thread that there are always 2 sides to every story. We'll never know 100% both sides and, frankly, I don't care to. Threads such as that one, while perhaps started with a good intention, never lead to a good outcome. I hope this forum continues the way it has in the past - a place where my knowledge of boating can be increased in an enjoyable way.

Thanks and lets get back to boating...
:D
BL...

Again, I can't apologize enough folks. I did not want to start any problems.I really like Iboats and hope to have many more years here.

I agree with every bone in my being that when a business does you wrong, you tell others about it.
That's how businesses survive or fail.

Admins: if you decide to delete it, I understand to a point, but do it if you must.

Thanks to all who has seen my point, and EBasic's.

H.

Dang, Ross...

I feel your pain...

'Bout the only thing that seriously tweaks me and wish I could stay away from is people talking on their cell phones while driving.

Haven't seen this in boats yet, but there's a first for everything...

I really hope my state adopts what Ney York did and outlaw them in cars. ( or whatever they did)
They did something that got the cell users in an uproar!

H.

Re: Recent Posts - Stay Away

I would hope anyone in a boat was having tooooo much fun to talk on a cell phone - unless its a distress call. I know I usually am. Few months ago while walking out of the local grill, I saw two fellows coming up the sidewalk. Both of them had cell phones stuck in their ears. I wondered if they were talking to each other!?!?

BL...

LOL!!

ROFLMAO !!

Yea, I'd hope boaters use them for emergencies, but you never know these days. I don't know how many times I've seen people go through check out lines, fast food joints, etc... And not even miss a beat on their phones...

Almost got ran over a few days ago because of a cell user and his car. Had another person at a taco joint almost make off with my order. Mind you I was WAY ahead of him in the line!

LOL...

Technology...Is it really worth it?

Dang, I don't even like the phone for the most part...

H.

Re: Recent Posts - Stay Away

My wife, Vicki, struck a good one last year at the Auckland garden show. Somebody way down in front at a huge hall full of people had a mobile phone ring.
Vicki swears that some 30+ people all pulled out their phones and looked angry as if they all thought it was for them!
I wish I had a device that would set off all mobile phones in my area. Boy would I have fun.
My phone goes with me on the boat but stays off unless I need to make an emergency call. All other communications are otherwise made through the Coast Guard.
Ross

Re: Recent Posts - Stay Away

hate to say it fellas I work for a cell company and mine is all but glued to my head during the week. I used to enjoy boating and camping particularly because my phone didn't work there, well that could only last so long :( There I was last weekend running across the lake and talking on the phone. SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE

Ok, so I'm new to this board and looked around for guidelines on the forum and I can't find it. So aside from the obvious digressions from socially acceptable behavior, is it not ok to express some opinions? For example, if I have some experience to offer to a potential buyer, shouldn't I do that (with respect and tact, which should be inherent)? Again, I'm not trying to stir anything up here, just looking for some guidance.

Respectfully, Knox.

Re: Recent Posts - Stay Away

Knoxes, this is just my opinion and I am in no way affiliated with iBoats or the moderators...I've enjoyed this board because it offered positive and negative feedback on asked questions without getting personal. I don't think Homerr meant anything personal with his original post. He had a bad experience and was sharing it and venting it out. But, these type posts (at least the ones I've seen on the "other" forum I mentioned) usually lead to personal attacks instead of providing solid info on what is good or not good about boating. It just been my observation that opinions offered after being asked lead to more civil threads.

BL...
