75% through installing the powerhead off of an E115TLCTE(prop,forward control) on my E115JKLERS(jet,tiller control), I realized that I should have payed closer attention to the routing of the recirculatin hoses. The prop motor has a recirculation port for each cyl. and 4 ports under the carbs.
The jet motor has recirc ports for only the upper cylinders, and one behind the throttle linkage ,(main bearing ?).
I mention prop VS jet because I had to swap intake manifolds because of the difference in linkage.
In a search on this site I found a couple of posts on the subject, but there is a missing element.
Neither of these motors has a check valve in any of the lines ( looked at the Evinrude sight and found the check valve referenced for both motors but can ony find the manifold nipples. .The nipples under the carbs have screens on the threaded ends and no check.
The only manual that I have is a Clymer and the hose routing shown has an extra hose that does'nt exsist on these motors.
One of the replys to a post found during my search mentioned just attaching the 4 recirc ports to the 4 carb ports but not attaching them to the same cylinder ?
I would love to get some direction on this subject.
Sorry about the long post, but I wanted to give as much info as I could.
Bill
