Recoil on 55 fleetwin 7.5

Does anybody know how to reassemble The recoil on my fleetwin, there's some kind of a spring in the center I had to put a new recoil spring in it and now I can't get it back together I saw there was a thing called a friction spring on puzzled on how to put it back together, I got the recoil spring put in but the other part with the pawls is my issue

Yep, it gives everybody a problem on the first one they get into. The secret is the equalizer spring must be assembled up onto the shoulder of the spindle before the spindle is inserted into the rope pulley. If it jumps off, start over.
