Recomendation needed: Controls

I want to install a new side mount control on my 91 Seasprite cuddy. Engine is a 91 5.0 merc, alpha 1 gen 2 outdrive.

The current control is a quicksilver (assuming original?) with tilt/trim and a trailer switch with a neutral push button. The push button is cracked and constantly pops out, I really can't figure a way to keep it in and given the age, would just rather replace it altogether.

Thus far I have been pretty adept at putting this girl back together on the engine side and she runs but for some reason I am drawing a big stupid on which control to buy. I understand I need tilt/trim but looking at the iboats store (where I plan to purchase) my crusty eyes can't seem to detect anything with the trailer switch option.

So, anyone here have a recommendation on which control to purchase? Need a reliable unit that won't break the bank (of course). Thanks in advance.

You may have better luck with this question in the I/O or Mercrusier sections of the forums.

You woudl need another Quicksilver control since they are for Mercury, Morse also makes a genaric controlmbox that should work with your engine but I will leave the homework up to you

Gotcha, thanks. I was kind of hoping some sort of teleflex, Uflex or other side mount would do the job, but I guess I am limited to what I figured I would be.

Appreciate your reply.

Ayuh,... About any of the aftermarket controllers are easily adaptable to yer cables,...
The "Trailer" switch can be wired through a toggle switch, Anywhere ya want it...

Yer not at All limited in Choices...

I'm going to slap my forehead for not thinking of wiring the trailer button wire to a toggle switch.

There, slapped.
