Greetings,

I have an older 150 pro V Yami. When transporting I use a transom saver however the motor is turning from side to side. I have seen a product used on the steeering cable that would eliminate this issue.
Anyone know the name and where I can find them?

Thanks for the help.

Re: Recomendation

A correctly installed transom saver should not allow for any movement of the motor in any direction. It should provide a "stiff knee" between the motor and your trailer. Maybe check your installation? Good Luck!

Re: Recomendation

I have read about some of these things but have never used or seen them in use.
Panther outboard stabilizing Clips is one of the different brands that are available. I found it by looking for outboard centering clips.
Hope this helps.

Re: Recomendation

The transom savers just lock the motor to the trailer with a "stiff knee" type arangement that keeps the motor from bouncing around while towing. Walmart, Cabela's, etc. sells them. They work great, especially for larger, heavier motors. My 90HP Yamaha weighs about 260 lbs. and that would be a lot of weight bouncing around on the transom. Good Luck!

Re: Recomendation

Robert,
these stabilizing or centering Clips he is asking about go on the steering to keep the motor from turning side to side during transport. The transom savers hold the motor up and keep the strain off of the power tilt during transport

Re: Recomendation

I'm not familiar with this steering clip, but in his first message he mentioned a transom saver. Really a properly installed transom saver should solve his steering, motor movement problem. Mine works like a charm at keeping everything "tight" back at the motor/transom area.? Good Luck!

Re: Recomendation

i would recommend a new helm with no feedback steering.

it will stop your motor from swinging back and forth and it will eliminate some steering torqeu.
you can let your hands of the wheel and it will keep going its course without changing direction.

the steering system is not that expensive.
