Hey folks-
This is my second thread asking for help from this great community. Uncle Willie was invaluable on my last question, maybe he will pop in and give an opinion on this topic. I am looking to replace the trolling motors on my pontoon, but on an all-electric lake, so this is primary propulsion.
I have an OLD Minn Kota Neptune EP130 setup, and from what I can tell is the usual outcome after 20 years, the control box is fried. I went through all the troubleshooting steps in the service manual to determine that the hand control and the motors themselves were functioning fine. Opening the control boxes, it was clear that the capacitors and transistors were smoked.
I emailed support at Minn Kota, and they suggested that the controllers for the EM160 controller would work with my old motors, but I am leaning towards a whole new system.
Where the question gets a little different, aside from this being the primary motor, is that I have an existing transom mounted steering setup and lift motor that I was hoping to put the new setup on. The EM160 is an engine mounted system which, since I have no engine, I would have to fab a custom rig to connect it to my steering setup. Most of the other stuff I see out there doesn't seem like it would work real well either without modification.
Hoping to hear if anyone has any suggestions for something that will easily connect to my steering setup, and has a hand control that can be used from a typical console/helm setup.
Here are a couple pics of the steering and lift setup (yes, they are not aligned correctly:

Thanks for reading and any suggestions!
