Hi. I'm Misha and new to iboats and need some help. I recently purchased a boat to what I thought was a good deal. I've been boat-less for about 2 years now and missed being on the water. I purchased a 1990 Sea Ray 210BR, with 350 hours, 350 gmc engine and mercruiser alpha I. . The floor was "re-done" and all new interior as well. Everything looked good but I was not happy with the custom interior and figured I'll tear it out and start a new. After I tore it out I found a soft spot right by the motor. Sure enough after digging a little deeper I found the whole floor to be rotted out including the stringers and bilge. The p.o. simply put plywood over the old wet rotted floor and re carpeted then put a new custom interior. I was swindled!
Currently I have all the plywood from the p.o. out and it stripped down to the foam. I tapped on a motor mount tonight and found out one of the two is rotted as well. I'm not sure about the transom as the motor is still in the boat. I know with enough time I can tackle this. The problem is I don't have the time with work. My question is, does anyone know of a good trustworthy marine repair shop that could tackle doing all the stringer, bilge, motor mounts fiberglass... repairs. I'm located in central coast California and I'll be willing to tow it to a shop within a reasonable amount of time. Secondly, does anyone know of a rough estimate a job of the magnitude?
At this point I'm extremely upset with the whole situation and just want to get a working boat to get back on the water. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
