As part of finishing my basement, I need to basically re-wire the whole thing. Right now there are just two 20 amp circuits that I added for my workshop a few years back, and the original 4 bare-bulb lights from when the house was built. I am going to remove everything I added as well as the original 4 bulb circuit and start a design that supports the loads I expect to have like entertainment center, small office, exercise equipment, and new shop area.

I was looking at the books I have on house wiring and realized that they getting old and do not cover designing circuits for a new living space, just how to do repairs and modifications. So I'm going to buy a new book, but before I do, I though I would ask for some recommendations on house wiring books that are past the novice level and cover how to design circuits based on load requirements.

This one seems to be popular:
Wiring A House by Rex Cauldwell
