Recommended bow mount trolling motor.

Just looking for a little advice on what seems to be the best brand, lb. thrust to go with for my boat. My boat is a 16' Sylvan 1970 dual console with a 1968 55hp johnson. I will have up to four people in boat when fishing. Thanks for any input.

55# Minnkota or MotorGuide. That's the biggest you can go in the 12 volt class. Wired or wireless allows you to operate the motor from anywhere in the boat.

Thank you Silvertip. You think that 55# will be adequate enough for my boat. I did forget to mention that it is aluminum.

Should be fine. I have 55# MinnKota on an 18 foot pontoon and it works just fine.
