recommissioning a 1988 21' Sea Ray 175hp mercrusier 4.3 v6 w/ alfa1 ?

Hello, I have been going over all known systems on her for weeks and replacing what was needed, a starter,alternator ,tilt, trims tab system, battery's,cleaned carb, bottom paint, topside gel-coat to white color(was lime green!) i will fill and change all fluids tomorrow and change any filters needed.
The thing is, i have spend all of my funding for this boat allready.... so now as much as you all will hate me i must CUT corners to finish, please first understand that i tried!!allot of money went into getting this close to a full overhaul of all the basic systems and my only hope of sea-ing some fish this summer is to rig the hell out of any thing left to fix...... what might i have left to do to float it? and what can i do to check that all systems are go? Known issues left to fix: I had tested the key switch and it is working but will not start the boat?, slave silonoid is working you can jump it and it starts up , how can i find the problem?.. Also I lifted up the lower unit today and looked up underneath at the rubber accordion* looking tubing it seems to look cut or riped in zigzag pattern across so you can see inside the hose. is this normal? is it a exhaust tube will this let water in the motor? what is the deal?

Also I lifted up the lower unit today and looked up underneath at the rubber accordion* looking tubing it seems to look cut or riped in zigzag pattern across so you can see inside the hose. is this normal? is it a exhaust tube will this let water in the motor?

Ayuh,... The bottom 1 is the exhaust, 'n it, by itself won't necessarily let water into the motor, or the boat,..
But,...
If it's cracked, 'n split, the others are probably just as bad, 'n they Will sink yer boat...

Why did you waste your money on gel coat and bottom paint if it doesn't even run?

nutcase, no the boat runs like a kitten, i just have left to swap the fluids and filters. motor runs great and all seems good on lower unit, has 600hrs and running real good. i was asking what i need to check off before floating the boat. also i had asked a few other questions .. thanks tho

ok thanks would you have pictures of the other hoses you speeking of? you mean the other hoses up under the lowunit?
