I just disconnected a fuel line and it looks like there is some pipe dope of somekind on the fuel threads. When I reconnect this line and if I should use something on it should I use something that is suitable for fuel lines. What is it called? Thank you

If this is a flare fitting, there should be nothing on the fitting. The flare does the sealing. You might put a little oil on the fitting to keep it from binding up. If it is a pipe thread, then go ahead and put some sealer on it. There is a product from Permatex that I use, and I can't remember what it is called right now. When I can I will check my tool box!

If its a pipe thread fitting, plain old pipe dope with Teflon. Thats what is recommended in fuel/water separator instructions, and they don't want to end up in court, so thats what I use with zero problems...
