Rectifier 96 J48ESLEDC

Need to replace my rectifier. I found this sierra #18-5709 here at IBoats, which looks like the one on my motor, but can't confirm that it will work. Looks exactly the same w/4 wire setup but I know looks can often be decieving. Anyone here know for sure, or if not can you point to the right one? Thanx all!

Thanx for the response Rick. HolyMoly its $90 for the OMC...the Sierra I have referenced is only $27 and change. I realize OEM is preferred but for that big a price diff I would have to at least give the Sierra a try if it is the correct specs. Anyone know?

I'm betting it will work. I don't know why, but I cannot come up with the correct Sierra number for your motor, no matter where I look. I doubt there is a difference, though. Should be a 6-10 Amp system and that rectifier should work. That's what I thought when I saw the price on that rectifier from OMC $90.00????
