I'm trying to get my tach working and i think i may have a rectifier on the fritz. The motor is a 1986 evinrude 90 hp with tilt/trim. The battery voltage doesn't change when the motor is running and the tach won't move. It's a brand new tach and its wired correctly so i know that is not a problem.
My question is this... I have a known good rectifier off of an overheated 1986 johnson 150 hp with til/trim. According to this websites store the part #'s are the same, Sierra 193-5204. Does this mean that the two are interchangeable, or am i just hoping in vain to not have to spend another few hundred bucks on this boat?

Re: rectifier compatability.

Try it, most likely it works without problem.
