Rectifier Mercury 402

I am looking for the posibility to charche my batery on my Mercury 402 Thunderbold 40HP 2stroke. According to the electrical drawings i found, there should be two yellow wires to the rectifier. These two wires are missing on my motor, and so is the rectifier. When the motor is running, and i disconnect the batery, there is no output on the wires from the motor. Does this mean that my batery is not charged when the motor is running? I am worried that the batery gets exhausted by the navigationlights and radio if not charched...
