1987 90hp oil inj.#ob196221-how long can i run without a rectifier?as long as i have all wires tapped off seperately will i not damage the stator?

It will never hurt the stator as there is no load on it. Many racing stators the wires are just cut and taped as well as hand crank engines.

so other than ending up with a dead battery,the rectifier is not needed

Thats it's purpose to convert AC to DC voltage.
