Redoing transom.

I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, but I like to get a gameplan in my head way in advance. Now to the question. What is the best method to put the gimble back on the transom. Mainly all I lack knowledge of is the proper way to seal it to the back wall. Can someone please give me a step by step. Thanks
