I am going to refinish all the wood on my '85 century 3000 BR but I want to know if there is something better than Teak Oil to put on the wood, or do i just need to use this to keep the wood looking good?

Re: refinishing the wood

I think the general consensus here is to oil teak and not try to seal it with anything like poly, varnish, etc... It's been a subject of much debate.

i guess my question is up in the air. wouldn't lacer help to preserve the color? or even sealing it? i am fairly new at this, although i have done quite a bit with woodworking but never on a boat.

I don't think a lacquer finish will do anything for exterior teak. You'd need to build up a lot of coats, it would more than likely need to be sprayed and there are no UV inhibitors in it. Stay with the oil. I know it can be a pain but it is a boat. :D
